CHANGE IN TROOP CALENDAR

A couple of changes have been made in the Jamboree Troop calendar that was given out at the December meeting and that is posted on-line. It was brought to my attention at our Jamboree committee meeting that the first troop work weekend scheduled for May 22nd-24th, 2009 was not only Memorial day weekend, but it was the weekend before school finals. It was decided by the committee to move the work weekend to May 29th-31st. Also the date of May 28th-30th, 2010 will have to be moved back one weekend to May 21st-23rd, 2010 because the original date was also Memorial Day weekend.

The Boy Scouts of America, Norwela Council will be sending a contingent of 36 scouts and 4 leaders to the 2010 National Jamboree. Fort A. P. Hill military base located in the rolling hills of Virginia will be the home of the National Jamboree from July 26th - August 4th, 2010. This jamboree held in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of scouting will prove to be the highlight of a boys scouting career.

The Norwela Council contingent will be touring yet to be determined sites before and after the National Jamboree. Agenda details are forthcoming.
